280903 The Power of your Heroes and Anti-Heroes Make a list of 5 of your heroes or heroines and 5 anti-heroes or anti-heroines. Why do you admire your heroes and why do you resent your anti-heroes? I have read in many personal development books that the qualities we admire in others are ones we possess ourselves although they may be latent and not well-expressed….so whatever it is you admire in others, realise that you can strengthen that quality in yourself if you choose to do so. What we resent in others, is ALSO what we own ourselves but it is part of our unacknowledged shadow self. We criticise most in others what we cannot accept in ourselves. According to the “Law of Attraction” we draw our friends and foes to ourselves like magnets…the irony is that it is our own level of vibration that is responsible for attracting BOTH….there is a saying “look at your friends to see who you are”…..I would add, “look at your foes to see who you are too!” As you raise your standards in life, the quality of your friendships will change…and the quality of your opponents will change too….worthy friends and worthy opponents….it’s all part of the game! You’ve watched Star Wars haven’t you? :>) |
