 The Art and Science of Business

 In every trade and profession and that includes business too, there is an art and also a science to how well we develop our talents and gifts to succeed. The science of business entails learning about the tools and techniques and forming effective strategies that can be used systematically. The art of business is making the psychology and intuitive aspects of doing business a part of who we really are.

In order to BE great business people, we need to DO a lot of business…as we DO more and more business, we add to our experiential repertoire of skills and strategies that we can intuitively utilise without having to think about them…that is when the science of business becomes an art. 

As we expand our comfort zones to stretch our level of skills and expertise, we have to learn to deal with a lot of fears and rejection….this is an inevitable part of growth and expansion…greater success means the potential for greater risk of rejection and failure…we did not learn to ride our bicycles without ever falling off but there came a time when we knew we had mastered the skill of keeping our balance on two wheels without falling off….that’s the point at which we can become creative and start tapping into the “art” of riding a bicycle instead of worrying about the mechanics of it.

 So at what stage are you at with your work or business…are you a master of your trade…an artist? or are you still going through the scientific mechanics of what you need to DO in order to BE at the level of success you desire?
